Emma Lawrence is a fresh new talent on the music scene.  An accomplished 19 year old singer/songwriter from Newbury on the Hampshire/Berkshire borders, she has been writing and performing in public since she was 15. Her songs are written from the heart and inspired by the challenges and influences experienced by young people every day. Her strong folky voice resonates distinctly with her style of music which carries well both on the big stage or more intimate surroundings and as a result she has established a strong following. She has already released three EPs which reflect her ability to mix genres of folk, jazz and rock through her arrangements and she has had 2 top chart hits in the iTunes singer/songwriter charts.

“Emma’s music is a fusion of folk and pop and clearly expresses the emotions of her songs. Her sound crosses the borders of Florence and the Machine, Lana Del Rey and Adele but has its own unique quality and style.  Her inspiration comes from such artists as Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Emilie Sande.”  Damon Sawyer, Producer, Platform Studios

“Emma’s music displays a raw and obvious talent. She is very different from the plentiful amount of female singers out there and her songs are dynamic.” BBC Introducing Berkshire

Emma has supported artists such as Seth Lakeman and Austin Lucas and has performed at many festivals over the last few years including Glastonbury, Portsmouth Summer Show, Basingstoke Live!, Newbury Real Ale Festival and Caversham Festival, as well as many music venues throughout the south and London. In 2016 she was shortlisted for three awards at the prestigious Basingstoke Music Awards where she won Best Female Artist and she was National Runner Up in the Open Mic UK Original Songwriting Competition in 2014. She is currently studying at the music industry college BIMM in Bristol which has produced such talent as George Ezra, James Bay and The Kooks and is looking forward to taking her music out to a wider audience.
